Amazing experience tonight. The amazing meal was matched perfectly with the service. Mellanie guided us through the menu and provided a seamless service. The Agnolotti di mais was amongst our favorite and the cheesecake was to die for!
Barolo’s was a unique and enjoyable experience. If you are planning to visit, I’d recommend getting the wine pairing option as it was the most enjoyable part. I got the savory soufflé, mushroom tortellini, braised duck, and cheesecake. The soufflé was easily my favorite part of the meal, with how amazingly well every component paired together. The second course was the mushroom tortellini, and it left much to be desired. The mushroom brodo was extremely overpowering and kind of ruined the dish for me. I was very excited for the braised duck, and it was good, but it didn’t really amaze me. It was cooked well, but I wish the sauce was a bit heavier. The cheesecake was good, but I’m personally not a huge fan of edible flowers, it didn’t go well with the texture of the cheesecake. I had fun at Barolo’s, but personally I wouldn’t visit again.
While my partner and I have never experienced fine dining such as that which is offered at Barolo, we must say that the food and experience were lovely! The food was delicious and the orated wine pairing was amazing. Hearing from our waiter why the wine is chosen and a bit of history behind the cuisine was super fun and the pairing execution was flawless. Definitely going to come back and try more!
What a wonderful evening! The waitress, sommelier, and full staff are incredible. They went above and beyond for my partners birthday celebration. The food was incredible, the wine was out of this world and the desert sealed the deal. Will be back soon and many times!
Another disappointing Italian experience in Denver, after numerous people hyped this place up. I will say I prefer southern Italian, but even so, the dishes didn’t deliver. The veal agnolotti was pretty sparse on veal and was basically just a vessel for butter and cheese - which normally I’d say is delicious, but not in this case. The porcetta pasta dish I got was okay, but had a little bit of a bitter taste to it. The octopus was fine, but a bit chewy. The veal carpaccio, which we were warned was very basically seasoned, wasn’t very exciting. They did offer a truffle add on, but for $35 on that small of a dish, didn’t seem worth it. Italian wine offering was very good and the bartender who served at the bar counter was great. Also appreciated the restaurant has sound dampening panels which contributed to a nice atmosphere. Really wanted to love this place, hopefully I’ll have a chance to try it again and do some different dishes. But what we had wasn’t worth the higher price point and was disappointing after hearing such great things. Sounds like many people love it, so you might too!
