About this event

Explore the concept of healthy aging and learn how physical activity is one of many elements in the emerging concept of Whole Person Health in this two-part presentation from Professor Barbekka Hurtt of the University of Denver school of Biological Sciences. What does it mean to age in a healthy way and what measurements indicate healthy vs unhealthy aging? How do older adults define healthy aging, versus the definitions used by clinicians and researchers? Is there one correct definition, one correct set of goals, and one way to do it best? We will explore these and other questions through the lens of physical activity and exercise, and how staying physically active positively affects many aspects of the aging process. Session 1 - Tuesday, October 20: What is Healthy Aging and how is it measured? Session 2 - Tuesday, October 27: The role of physical activity in healthy aging Register below. Registration will sign you up for both events.
