Colorado ranks second in the nation for breweries per capita, and Denver accounts for more than 70 of them within city limits alone. That concentration creates real competition for your after-work dollar — and real savings during denver brewery happy hours. Taproom pricing already undercuts bars and restaurants by cutting out the middleman, but between 3pm and 6pm on weekdays, you can drink fresh-from-the-tank IPAs and lagers for less than a grocery-store six-pack.

This guide covers the taprooms actually worth rearranging your commute for, organized by neighborhood. Every price and time window listed here was verified in person. With Denver metro per capita income at $72,800 (Census ACS), happy hour savings add up fast — especially when you are comparing $3 pints to $9 restaurant pours. For the full rundown of cocktail bars, wine spots, and food deals, head back to the Denver Happy Hours hub.

RiNo & Five Points Breweries

Great Divide Brewing Taproom (2201 Arapahoe St) runs the simplest happy hour in the city: $3 pints, Monday through Friday, 3-6pm. That is not a typo. Three dollars for a full pour of Yeti Imperial Stout or Colette Farmhouse Ale — beers that go for $8 or more at any restaurant tap. The taproom itself is industrial and no-frills, which keeps overhead low and savings real. Order the Hercules Double IPA if you want the best ABV-to-dollar ratio in Denver. Great Divide has been brewing since 1994, and at these prices, there is no reason to drink anywhere else before 6pm.

Ratio Beerworks (2920 Larimer St) occupies a converted garage in the middle of the RiNo Art District. Their happy hour drops pints to the $4-$5 range, and the outdoor patio fills up fast once temperatures crack 60 degrees. The Domestica Golden Ale is the go-to session beer — light, dry, and under 5% ABV so you can manage a second round without wrecking your evening. The rotating sour taps are worth asking about; the brewers lean into wild fermentation more than most Denver operations.

Our Mutual Friend Brewing (2810 Larimer St) sits one block from Ratio and brews some of the most interesting saisons and farmhouse ales in the state. Happy hour pricing is modest — $1-$2 off pints — but the base prices are already fair for the quality. The taproom is small, the bartenders know the regulars by name, and the beer list changes constantly. This is the spot for the person in your group who is tired of IPAs.

Epic Brewing (3001 Walnut St) came to Denver from Salt Lake City and brought their big-beer philosophy with them. Happy hour runs weekdays with discounts on flagships and seasonals. The Big Bad Baptist imperial stout is a serious beer — 11.8% ABV, aged on coffee and cocoa nibs — and getting it for a couple bucks off during happy hour is one of the better deals in RiNo. The taproom has more space than most in the neighborhood, so it handles groups well. Highlands & LoHi Taprooms

Bierstadt Lagerhaus (2875 Blake St) does one thing and does it at an obsessive level: German-style lagers. Their slow-pour pilsner takes a full seven minutes to build in the glass, and yes, it is worth the wait. Happy hour drops pint prices to the $4-$5 range, and the taproom's biergarten seating feels more Munich than Denver. The Helles and Dunkel are brewed to strict Reinheitsgebot standards — water, malt, hops, yeast, nothing else. If you have only tried American craft lagers, Bierstadt will recalibrate your expectations.

Stats Brewery (3245 Osage St, Highland) brews solid, straightforward beer and prices it like they want you to come back tomorrow. Happy hour drops pints to the $4-$5 range, and the food menu leans into pub classics — burgers, wings, loaded fries — all discounted during the window. The vibe is sports bar meets brewpub, with screens everywhere and a patio that catches afternoon sun. It works for groups where not everyone is a craft beer person.

Rooftop Brewing Co. (3295 Tejon St, Highland) sits on a stretch of Tejon that has turned into one of Denver's best bar-hopping corridors. The name is literal — there is a rooftop patio with mountain views that make your $5 happy hour pint taste even better. Their blonde ale is clean and easy, but the rotating IPAs are where the brewers flex. Rooftop runs food truck partnerships most weekends, so check the Denver food truck map to see who is parked outside. Both Stats and Rooftop sit along the same Highland corridor, making them natural candidates for a two-stop brewery crawl. For more in this area, see the LoHi and Highlands happy hour guide.

South Denver & Suburban Breweries

Bull & Bush Pub & Brewery (4700 Cherry Creek S Dr, Glendale) has been brewing in Denver since 1971, making it one of the oldest brewpubs in Colorado. The happy hour here skews British — think cask-conditioned ales, proper pints, and a meat pie that actually tastes like someone's grandmother made it. Discounted pints run weekday afternoons, and the back patio feels more like a London beer garden than anything you would expect off Cherry Creek Drive. Bull & Bush does not chase trends. They brew English-style bitters and ESBs alongside a few American IPAs, and the quality stays remarkably consistent year after year.

Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton (471 Kalamath St) operates out of a massive farmhouse-style building with a full restaurant kitchen and sprawling patio. Happy hour runs weekdays with discounted flagship pints and $2 off appetizers. The Vanilla Porter is their flagship for a reason — it drinks like dessert without the cloying sweetness. Pair it with the spent-grain pretzels for one of the better snack-and-beer combos south of downtown.

Chain Reaction Brewing (902 S Broadway) keeps things small and rotating. Their happy hour runs 4-6pm weekdays with $1 off all pints. The tap list changes frequently — expect anything from a Czech pilsner to a peanut butter stout — and the South Broadway location puts you within walking distance of a dozen restaurants if you need dinner after. For more in the Cherry Creek corridor, check out our Cherry Creek happy hour guide.

Brewery Food Deals

Not every taproom is drinks-only. Several Denver breweries run legitimate food happy hours alongside their pint discounts, and the gap between brewery food and restaurant food has narrowed considerably in the last few years.

Stats Brewery discounts its full pub menu during happy hour — $2 off burgers, half-price wings, discounted loaded fries. The portions are honest and the kitchen does not phone it in just because the price is lower. Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton matches drink deals with $2 off appetizers, and the spent-grain pretzels with beer cheese are the move. Bull & Bush serves proper British pub food — shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, meat pies — with weekday afternoon discounts that make dinner-at-the-brewery a real option rather than an afterthought.

For taprooms without kitchens, food trucks fill the gap. Rooftop Brewing and Ratio Beerworks both host rotating food trucks on their patios, especially on weekends. The truck schedules change weekly, so check each brewery's social media or the food truck map before heading out. For a full breakdown of the best food deals during happy hour across all Denver bars and restaurants, see the happy hour food deals guide.

Denver's RTD light rail connects several brewery clusters. Start at the 38th & Blake station (walk to RiNo taprooms like Ratio and Our Mutual Friend), then ride south to Union Station for Great Divide and Jagged Mountain near Ballpark. Total walk time between all three RiNo stops: about 10 minutes. Total damage to your wallet: under $20 for three quality pints. Check the light rail map for real-time arrivals.
