Holy smokes this place gets crowded! Went in with reservations on a Thursday night. The hostess offered us only shared hightop seating options. I was elbow to elbow with lodo bros who just got off work. Couldn't hear a thing. The food was decent, but some of the flavors weren't complimented properly, while others felt heavy-handed. For instance, the Massive Attack salad was bright, but I was expecting more zest or richness to round it out. The tempura broccoli felt randomly stuck in the corners of the salad. It really could've been its own side! The lemon pepper chicken didn't taste like lemon, or pepper, but rather the heaping pool of butter it had soaked in making its way to the table. The carne asada was definitely the hit for the night. That, and the elote was great. Overall, for the price and the atmosphere, I think there's definitely better options around RiNo. I went in from a foodie blog recommendation, and came out severely questioning said foodie's taste buds.
Went here on a second date and it was the perfect casual atmosphere, we sat outside so not too noisy for conversation. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly. I had the margarita which was good. We ordered the salad, elote hash, mac&cheese, carne asada and chicken as shareable dishes and everything was amazing! The mac&cheese was so creamy & the carne asada was cooked to perfection. The GM also gave us little spoons of butterscotch which was so kind and it was delicious! Made us feel welcomed. Would highly recommend!
If I had to sum up Work & Class in one phrase, it would be: professionalism without pretension. I was in Denver for work and sat down at the bar with a simple request for the bartender: “If I’ve never been here before and never make it back, build me the most memorable meal possible.” He didn’t hesitate, and absolutely understood the assignment. The lineup: blue corn empanadas, carne asada with chimichurri, elote hash, smoked gouda mac & cheese, butterscotch pudding, and a couple cocktails along the way. The empanadas were the first sign I was in good hands. Crispy, flavorful, and gone far too quickly. The carne asada was cooked beautifully, the elote hash brought a ton of flavor and texture, and the smoked gouda mac & cheese was exactly the kind of side dish that makes you question your life choices while happily taking another bite. Then came the butterscotch pudding. Chef’s kiss. If there was a better way to end the meal, I don’t need to know about it. What stood out most wasn’t just the food. It was the atmosphere. Great service, knowledgeable staff, strong cocktails, and none of the attitude that sometimes comes with highly regarded restaurants. Just good people serving great food. Each person that worked there interacted with positivity and authenticity. For a guy traveling alone on a Friday night, I couldn’t have asked for a better recommendation. If I’m back in Denver, I’m back at Work & Class.
Amazing place! We came here randomly our first time because we were trying to get into the pop-up bar nearby. While waiting to get in we decided to stop in for food because as my fiancé said "This place is popping!" and I'm glad we did. The food is absolutely delicious, we had the lamb, lemon pepper chicken and the Cochanita Pibil. The lamb was divine, perfectly seasoned so the natural flavor shone through without the usual gameyness of the meat. The lemon chicken was crispy, flavorful and perfectly moist. Easily some of the best chicken I've ever had. The Cochanita Pibil was moist, tender and absolutely amazing. I'd highly recommend the Massive Attack Salad as a starter. It's an explosion of flavor. The drinks are affordable and punch way above their weight. The beer and shot combos are absolutely the best bang for your buck. They are pricy, but the quality is definitely reflected in the price and you absolutely won't feel ripped off or disappointed if you decide to make this place your go to for a nice date night!
The food was overall good but a little to improve. The team was nice, thoughtful and helpful. 💚🥗🧡Massive Attack Salad was definitely recommended! Since it was also the only salad option they have, they did a great job. Different veggies were mixed in many ways, some chopped, some fried. You get surprises each bite. Healthy dish with a little guilty pleasure. Colorado lamb was normal, it didn’t come with anything. Some were tender, some were overcooked.
