LGBTQ+ Denver centers on Capitol Hill, the neighborhood Visit Denver calls the city's historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood, and on The Center on Colfax, which offers free health, support and history services. The Denver Pride 2026 celebration moved to 16th Street this year, between Arapahoe and Broadway. Go to Capitol Hill for bars, venues and events, to The Center for services, and to the Pride section below for what changed on 16th Street.

Capitol Hill and the Lavender Hill Cultural District

Visit Denver describes Capitol Hill as Denver's historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood and lists LGBTQ+ venues, bars and events there. That is the reason to spend an evening on its blocks: nightlife and community events sit in the same neighborhood, so one trip can include both.

The district's own story is told at Lavender Hill Denver. For where to go out, start with LGBTQ Bars Denver 2026.

Services at The Center on Colfax

The Center on Colfax lists its free services in three groups:

  • Health and coverage: HIV/STI screenings and insurance help.
  • Support: social support and peer support groups.
  • Practical help: fingerprinting, fitness classes and an LGBTQ+ lending library.

The Center's LGBTQ History Project collects, preserves and shares LGBTQ+ history through public exhibits, oral histories and document archives, so a visit can be about research as well as services. For the organization's own background, read the history of The Center on Colfax as Denver's LGBTQ+ community hub.

Denver Pride 2026 Dates and Location

Westword reported on March 2, 2026 that Denver Pride would take place along 16th Street from Arapahoe to Broadway, because Civic Center Park is under construction. The same report describes a music festival and a month of events.

Visit Denver gives June 28 for both the parade and PrideFest. Those events are over, and the 16th Street location stands as the 2026 record.

History, Rights and Nightlife Pages on the Site

Two other pages on the site continue from here. LGBTQ+-Owned Restaurants & Cafes in Denver covers places to eat. Capitol Hill Denver Events Guide covers the neighborhood's wider event calendar.

Updated 2026-10-12: removed the unsourced designation year, the Center's daily hours and the Pride date range, and dropped links to pages that are no longer live; added the Center's free services and History Project, and the 16th Street Pride location with its March 2, 2026 announcement.
