Has a good menu, tried a lot of the options. It’s a great lunch spot, and would be a good dinner choice. What was noted is how large the green tea mug is- that’s fantastic, and the bowl of edamame was also large. Minus a star reasoning- good food, quaint location, and friendly service, but nothing felt like “wow, I will brag about that meal”. And there are some sushi meals that I still think about today. So 4 is that’s it’s a good place to go, you’ll have really good meal, and it’ll be at the same cost of other places.
TO TASTE SOMETHING THIS DELICATE, FRESH, AND BEAUTIFUL is not something we get to experience every day. This is a small, cozy spot - very much like those in Japan - with highly attentive staff. Highlights include an extensive sake menu (recommendations provided for those who want to feel like pros) and TIGHT sushi rolls with the freshest, most flavorful ingredients. True highlight is the sashimi. The fish tastes like it came up for air just a few hours ago. The tuna is highly marbled and the salmon melts in the mouth. One unique twist: they serve some sashimi lightly blowtorched (you can opt out if you're some kind of purist) to develop a SLIGHT smoky flavor (without cooking) on a few of the delicate pieces. Make your own sashimi sampler by getting one of a few different pieces. GLISTENING scallops, octopus with DEEP color, and new tastes and flavors literally in each bite. Like the thin, tender, fresh fish they serve, life itself is delicate. So WHY NOT LIVE A LIFE THAT IS FRESH AND FLAVORFUL and spend a long, joy-filled evening at Nozomi?
Visiting a friend in Denver and wanted to catch a bite before the 2 hr trip home. Bumped into Nozomi while leaving the neighborhood. Nicely set on a corner location, we were able to find parking for my full sized truck. It happened to be happy hour time and we ate a couple plates to see how the quality would be. When our Eel Avocado Maki, Salmon Maki and spicy Yellowtail Maki arrived, we were super impressed. Nicely prepared and seasoned perfectly. Melted in your mouth when eating. We inhaled all three plates in 10 minutes and wanted more! We were pressed for time and wanted to avoid traffic so had to leave. Already have plans for next week to return and bring my wife along to let her enjoy the quality as well. Smaller place, so I bet it can get busy at times.
Tried this place cause I heard about good reviews. We just got back from Tokyo and were hoping for some good sushi. We sure got it. We got the crispy spicy tuna it was so fresh and good. We got the dynamite roll and the spider roll. Again they were both fresh and delicious. We also got two pieces of their fatty tuna nigiri. It was like butter in my mouth. 10/10 will go her again and again 😋
I consider myself a sushi snob and I'm willing to pay $$$$ for quality sushi. Denver, unfortunately has a lot of overpriced sushi restaurants that try to charge an absurd amount for barely above average sushi. Nozomi, on the other hand, has amazing quality for some of the lowest prices you can find in the city. This isn’t a high end sushi restaurant but it’s good or nice enough for a dinner date, celebration, or casual meal! Their quality and fish to rice ratio is not only amazing but they do a great job at dressing their dishes appropriately with balanced sauces and simple garnishes. You can find amazing deals for sushi, kitchen apps, and drink on their happy hour menu which is from 4:30-6:00PM. I dined for the first time in early 2024 when I had visited from out of the state and I was very impressed. At the time, their walls were white. I moved to the city this year and got to dine in recently and the walls are black. The ambience is much nicer. The service was amazing and fast. The restaurant was filling up which was great to see for the restaurant. We asked if they do anything for birthdays and they brought out a matcha icing flavored cake. It was a nice way to end our meal. The temaki hand rolls on happy hour, chilli tofu, sake toro nigiri, hotate jalepeno crudo, and red dragon roll were some of our favorites of our meal. They don't skimp out on the fish portions for the hand rolls. Nozomi is now going to be my go to sushi restaurant in Denver! Seriously come try this place, you won't be disappointed. Updated 4/30/26 - came back for an anniversary dinner and decided to get mostly nigiri. Amazing and high quality pieces for such fair prices compared to elsewhere. Most of our pieces were $4.25! Toro for $9 and sake wagyu $7, notate wagyu $8. Can’t wait to come back!
