About This Artwork

Two monumental figurative sculpture groups atop 40-foot tall Doric columns at the City Park Esplanade entrance. One side depicts Mining, the other Agriculture — Colorado's two founding industries. Also includes sweeping 300-foot terra cotta walls.

About the Artist

Leo Lentelli

Leo Lentelli (1879-1961) was an Italian-born American sculptor who trained in Bologna and Rome before immigrating to the US in 1903. He became known for architectural and ornamental sculpture on major public buildings including Rockefeller Center and the San Francisco Main Library.
