Five Points live music and murals sit along 27th Street, Larimer Street, 20th Street, Welton Street and North Washington Street. Three stops are music rooms, from a jazz supper club to an indie-rock hall. Two are wall portraits and animals painted large enough to read from the sidewalk. For more painted walls in the neighborhood, there is Five Points street art. Hours can change, so confirm with each venue before heading out.
Live jazz and supper on 27th Street

Start on 27th Street, between Larimer and Walnut. Nocturne Jazz & Supper Club is at 1330 27th St, a bi-level lounge and eatery serving plates and cocktails amid live jazz music. Its site bills it as live jazz fine dining, so the reason to go is dinner and a jazz set under one roof. Beer, wine and cocktails are on offer.
It is open Tuesday through Sunday, 5 p.m. to midnight, and takes reservations, which suits an evening planned ahead with a table held. Expect a very expensive night out. Google rates it 4.8 of 5. Parking is free on the street, and valet parking is available.
Live bands and DJs in historic buildings

From 27th Street, the next two stops are close to each other, on Larimer Street and 20th Street. Both book live acts.
Marquis is at 2009 Larimer St. It is an intimate concert venue for indie rockers, with bookings that range from local bands to nationally touring acts, and its site carries the show calendar. It suits anyone who wants to see a guitar band in a small room. Google rates it 4.5 of 5.
Ophelia's Electric Soapbox is 0.06 mi (92 m) away in a straight line. Ophelia's Electric Soapbox is at 1215 20th St, a multi-level music joint in a storied Victorian brownstone, with live bands and DJs. The site describes a roster of national and local acts, so the draw is the building and the range of shows. It is open daily, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., which works for an early evening or a late finish. Brunch, coffee and outdoor seating are on the list, and reservations are taken. Moderate prices, and Google rates it 4.6 of 5. Like Marquis, its entrance and seating are wheelchair accessible.
Two wall murals to find on foot
The murals are the stops to see between shows. Both are on the outside of buildings, and they are 0.21 mi (330 m) apart in a straight line.
The Librarian is at 2401 Welton St. It is a giant black-and-white portrait of a Black librarian reading to children, and it celebrates education and literacy in Five Points. The Denver Public Library history page is the place to read more about it. Google rates it 4.3 of 5, and the entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible. It is the one stop on this page marked good for children.
The Five Points Lynx is at 2444 N Washington St #100. A massive Canada lynx with piercing amber eyes crouches across a three-story warehouse wall, and the Five Points BID lists it among the neighborhood's sights. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. It is the one stop on North Washington Street rather than on the Larimer, 20th, 27th or Welton corridors.
Getting there and parking
On 27th Street, Nocturne has free street parking and valet parking. On Welton Street, The Librarian has free street parking and wheelchair accessible parking. On 20th Street, Ophelia's lists paid street parking. On Larimer Street, Marquis lists paid street parking and paid garage parking.
For an evening plan, see the mural on Welton Street first, then head to Nocturne when it opens at 5 p.m. Ophelia's opens at 4 p.m. and runs later, and the Denver hidden gems hub has more for another night.
