Not sure if it is the venue or the school hosting the graduation ceremony for the event, but something needs to change, for a better planned parking system, if so many in attendance.
The March PowWow is literally an annual thing for my family and I. Every year it is spectacular. The Indian Taco's are to die for. When you go, bring a wagon (even if you don't have kids, but definitely if you do!!). Dress for being packed into a t in can like sardines but in the most loving and worth it kind of way. This is not a place for someone with issues with crowds, seriously, don't do it. For those who wish to support a great cause and are brave enough to face the crowd, there's always March 2027!
I attended the Denver March Powwow, and while the cultural experience itself is always meaningful, the venue left a lot to be desired. The facility felt very old and outdated, and it did not seem well-equipped to handle large crowds comfortably. One of the biggest concerns was accessibility. The handicap parking location was not convenient, and there were no elevators available, which made it extremely difficult for individuals with mobility challenges to navigate the space. Events like this are important for the community and deserve a venue that is accessible, safe, and welcoming for everyone. I hope future events consider improvements in accessibility and overall facility conditions.
Came for the stock show it was great. Parking at coors was easy. The shuttle ride in was a nice. Wasn't stuck in traffic. Hopefully they do that again.
The Denver Coliseum has stood its ground since 1951, and walking into it feels like stepping straight into living history. This isn’t just a venue, it’s a time capsule. I still remember Barnum & Bailey rolling through here year after year, and the very first concert I ever attended echoing off these walls. Those memories came flooding back the moment I walked in. In a city where so many historic buildings have been flattened for warehouses and apartments, the Coliseum’s survival feels almost defiant. It was built as a no-nonsense, working arena, designed to host rodeos, stock shows, boxing, wrestling, circuses, and concerts and it’s done exactly that for more than seven decades. It’s long been tied to Denver’s western roots, regularly hosting events connected to the National Western Stock Show and welcoming generations of families through its doors. What really stands out is how well it’s been preserved. You can feel the age, but in the best way possible. The structure has character, the kind you can’t fake or replicate, and it’s clear that care has been taken to maintain it rather than erase it. The Denver Coliseum doesn’t try to be modern, it proudly wears its history. Coming back after decades, this time for the Mexican rodeo, was emotional. The energy, the crowd, the atmosphere, it all reminded me why places like this matter. The Denver Coliseum isn’t just still standing; it’s still alive, still hosting moments that people will remember for the rest of their lives. Denver is better because this place was never torn down.
