The parking is $20 cash for $30 credit (parking is not handled by this venue but rather some enterprising business owners who have decided to hire their own staff to collectively monitor the use of their private parking lots)... or you can find street parking if you get there just the right time and people are already leaving for a longer event. Once inside you're going to pay way too much for beverages and food stuff, unless you find a particular food truck vendor that's got a decent price. There's not a lot of seating so you might have to wait for a spot if the event is particularly crowded, otherwise you're standing up most of the time. The venue is asphalt and at least the surface is consistent and smooth. There's a lot of staff on site to keep things orderly.
We sew Kid Cudi here a couple weeks ago and honestly, what a night. We hadn't been to a concert like this in a while and The Junkyard made it super memorable. No matter where you're standing, you've got a solid view of the stage. The LED screens and production setup were on point, and the outdoor setting under the evening sky just added to the whole atmosphere. Crowd was chill, which made it easy to just enjoy the moment without any stress. You could tell the venue draws people who are actually there for the music. Parking can be a pain and expensive. I recommend some type of rides are instead, although it's nice to have your own vehicle on the way out. If you haven't checked out The Junkyard for a live show, you're missing out. Already looking forward to the next one!
Cool venue. Excellent view and plenty of room for a massive pit, or easy to enjoy the show from a more relaxed distance. The line was long but moved quickly and efficiently to get everyone into the show. Fair price for the show I saw (Dethklok, Amon Amarth, Castle Rat). Only reason it's not 5 stars is there was nothing really standout excellent about the venue to put it into top tier territory, and the drinks are expected expensive weak wells. That's not bad but not worth boosting to 5 stars either.
Had a great time at The Junkyard seeing New Found Glory and Yellowcard. The sound was great from anywhere in the venue. Lots of spaces to purchase drinks - but fair warning that the majority of alcoholic drinks are way, way sweet and the bartenders will ask you for your ID everytime even with a band on. The bathrooms are portapotties, but there were plenty of them so the lines were not bad. There were 4 or 5 food trucks inside the venue and some seating near the food trucks, but you won't see the concert from there. There is no seating or rain cover - I feel like that is well known with this venue, but bears mentioning anyway. We were not in the VIP section, so nothing to say about that. We came in a little late, so we missed an entrance line that other reviews talk about. I highly recommend doing a ride share of some kind to and from the venue. Overall, a great experience and we will be back!
We recently attended our first show at The Junkyard and left with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the open-air atmosphere is great, entry was seamless, and the security team was incredibly friendly and efficient. The food trucks were also a highlight: reasonably priced, quick moving, and offering a great variety of options. As for the sound quality, it is exactly what you would expect from an outdoor venue set up in a parking lot. However, the ID policy is incredibly frustrating. We had to show our IDs just to get into the initial entry line. Then, once inside, we had to show our ID at the bar just to get a wristband, only to be forced to re-show our ID with every single subsequent transaction anyway. It completely defeats the purpose of the wristband. This repetitive checking drastically slows down the lines and constantly risks someone misplacing their ID. While this is likely because it is an 18+ venue, the execution is a major hassle. It might be worth considering switching to a 21+ format to streamline the experience of the majority of your attendees.
