For food and drink events in Denver this month, start with the one dated event: the RiNo Street Art & Murals Walking Tour with a local brewery tasting, which Marquis runs every Saturday at 4:30 PM. Around it sit five more places for cocktails, beer and patios, each with its own hours, parking and access details. The cocktail class, coffee classes, pottery workshops and cookie tour from the earlier version of this page are gone, because no source states their times. Hours and events change, so check each place's site before going.

Marquis, Denver

Classes in the first week

The first stretch of the month is about places with a clear identity, so this section covers a cocktail bar and a music room that doubles as a tour starting point. For the previous month's calendar, see Food and Drink Events in Denver This Month.

  1. 1

B&GC is the cocktail pick, a basement bar beneath the Halcyon Hotel in the former Cherry Creek Post Office, at 249 Columbine Street. Of the six places here, it is the only one that serves cocktails. The bar describes itself as a clandestine drinking spot revived from the ruins of that post office, which is a fair description of a room reached by going downstairs. The bar's site has its current details.

Marquis, a music room with a Saturday walking tour

Marquis is an intimate concert room for indie rockers, from local bands to nationally touring acts, at 2009 Larimer St. The Saturday tour at 4:30 PM includes a local brewery tasting, and the Marquis site carries the details. Parking is paid on the street, and Marquis is the only place on this page with a paid garage. The entrance and seating are wheelchair accessible.

Workshops in the middle of the month

The middle of the month is about long hours and easy access. Workshop times from the earlier version are dropped, and what stays are the hours, parking and access that the bars themselves state.

HQ Denver, a Broadway bar open late

HQ Denver suits a later start. It serves beer at 60 S Broadway and is open every day from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Street parking on the block is paid. The entrance and restroom are wheelchair accessible. The bar's site has more.

Prost Brewing, a German-style brewery with a skyline patio

Prost Brewing pours German-style beers in a casual room or on a patio with skyline views, at 2540 19th St. It is the only place on this page with outdoor seating, and the price is moderate. Hours run Mon-Thu 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fri 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sat-Sun noon to 11 p.m., so weekends are the time for a long afternoon on the patio. Street parking is both free and paid, and the entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible. The brewery's site has the rest.

Events in late November

The late-month stops are a taproom and a live music club, both in RiNo.

  1. 2

River North Brewery is a craft brewery with two Denver taprooms, and the one at 3400 Blake Street is the address to plan around. The brewery's site names IPAs, lagers, stouts and barrel aged beers as its signature. The RiNo Taproom has a dog-friendly patio, weekly events, beer releases, private event spaces and food trucks, according to the taproom page. That makes it an easy choice for a group that wants beer and a bite in one stop, or one that is bringing a dog.

Larimer Lounge, a RiNo bar and live music room

Larimer Lounge is the place to go for bands, DJs and electronic music, in a bar east of downtown at 2721 Larimer St. It is the only place on this page with live music. The club's site calls it RiNo's heritage indie rock club since 2002. Street parking nearby is both free and paid, and the entrance and restroom are wheelchair accessible.

Getting there and parking

Street parking is paid at HQ Denver and at Marquis, where a paid garage is also available. Prost Brewing and Larimer Lounge have both free and paid street parking, so read the signs on the block. B&GC and River North Brewery state no parking, so plan on transit or a rideshare for those two. Wheelchair accessible entrances are at Marquis, HQ Denver, Prost Brewing and Larimer Lounge, and Prost Brewing adds wheelchair accessible parking. After the tasting or a late night, transit or a rideshare is the safer way home.
