Denver Colfax 5K 2026: Route Map & Course Guide

The Colfax 5K ran through City Park on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with a finish line at Ferril Lake. The race's own pages set out the course layout, start waves, timing and road closures, so runners can plan with the organizer's details in hand.

Race day was Sunday, May 17, 2026, and the Colfax courses ran through Denver and Lakewood (Colfax 5K). The 5K started after the longer distances, so the longer races were already under way before the 5K field set off. It is a chip-timed race, which answers the common question of whether the Denver Colfax 5K is timed: it is (Colfax 5K).

The race invites runners to "run City Park in the Colfax 5K" (Colfax 5K). The layout is described on the Colfax 5K Course Overview page, and the finish line is at Ferril Lake, shown on the Full Course Map. For anyone asking where the Colfax 5K starts and finishes, the course runs through City Park and ends at Ferril Lake. Check those pages for the current route before race day.

The race sets aside a separate stroller-friendly start wave for families and walkers, and runners with dogs can start in the dog wave (Colfax 5K). So a stroller can come to the Colfax 5K, in the wave set aside for it. Families who want a City Park course with their own start group, and runners who want to bring a dog, both have a wave built for them.

Registration runs through RunColfax.org; the Register page holds the sign-up and the rules. On race day, road closures run between 5am and 1pm depending on the part of the city, and traveling north/south on I-25 stays open (Colfax 5K). Check the race organizer for current conditions, weather, water and parking before heading out.

The other Colfax distances have their own guides: the Denver Colfax Marathon 2026, the Denver Colfax Half Marathon 2026, the Denver Colfax 10 Miler 2026 and the Denver Colfax Marathon Relay 2026.
