Labor Day Weekend Just Hit Different in Denver This Year
Summer is taking its final bow — and our city is absolutely not going quietly. This week bridges the last gasp of August into a Labor Day weekend stacked with some of the biggest live music events of the year, wall-to-wall Rockies baseball at Coors Field, and a football rivalry that's been circled on every CSU fan's calendar for months. Whether you're catching a show under the mountain skyline or tailgating with a cold one, Denver is delivering this week. Let's get into it.
🔥 Don't Miss This Week
Phish Premium Seating – Sep 4 at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park
The Phish faithful are descending on Commerce City for what's already being called one of the must-see shows of the summer run. DICK'S Sporting Goods Park has been Phish's Labor Day home for years, and for good reason — the energy in that venue when 40,000 Phishheads are grooving together is something genuinely unlike anything else in Denver's concert calendar. Premium seating options are still available if you want to experience it in style. Grab your tickets before they're gone — this one sells out every single time. Friday, September 4 at 7:30 PM.
8/31/26 – Message Board at Voucher
Kicking off the week on Monday evening, this Message Board event at Voucher is a unique experience for those in the know. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular at Voucher's intimate happenings, this is a great way to ease into what's going to be a very full week. Monday, August 31 at 6:40 PM.
9/6/26 – Message Board at Voucher

🎸 Concerts & Live Music
This week's concert lineup is genuinely absurd in the best way. Here are the highlights:
- Jack Johnson w/ Lake Street Dive — Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre, Greenwood Village | Wed, Sep 2 & Thu, Sep 3 at 7:30 PM. Two nights of the smoothest, most sunset-friendly music imaginable, with the incredibly talented Lake Street Dive warming things up. Fiddlers Green's open lawn was made for a Jack Johnson show. Bring a blanket, bring a friend.
- MANÁ: VIVIR SIN AIRE TOUR — Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison | Fri, Sep 4 & Sat, Sep 5 at 8:00 PM. Mexican rock legends MANÁ are taking on Red Rocks for two nights, and if you've never seen them perform against those iconic red sandstone formations under the stars, you are genuinely missing out. This is a bucket-list show.
- Phish — DICK'S Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City | Fri, Sep 4 at 7:30 PM. General admission options alongside the premium seating — however you get in, just get in.
- Brantley Gilbert — Ford Amphitheater, Coors Field | Sat, Sep 5 at 7:30 PM. Country rock at one of Denver's newest and most exciting amphitheater venues. Brantley brings the energy — this one's going to be loud and proud.
- Ladies Night & Noche Sonidera — La Rumba, Downtown Denver | Fri, Sep 4 at 7:00 PM. If the massive amphitheater shows aren't your vibe, La Rumba is the move. Sonidera sounds, a killer dance floor, and the kind of night that turns into a story. Free before a certain time — check the listing for details.
⚾ Sports
It's a huge week at Coors Field AND on the college football front. Here's how to get your fix:
- Colorado Rockies vs. Baltimore Orioles — Coors Field, LoDo | Mon, Aug 31 & Tue, Sep 1 at 6:40 PM. Start the week with back-to-back games at the best ballpark in the country (we will die on this hill). Evening baseball in LoDo with the mountains in the background? Perfect.
- Colorado Rockies vs. St. Louis Cardinals — Coors Field, LoDo | Fri, Sep 4 at 6:40 PM & Sat, Sep 5 at 6:10 PM. The series shifts to the Cardinals for the back half of the week. Labor Day weekend baseball is a Denver tradition — grab a picnic area spot and make a full evening of it.
- CSU Rams vs. Wyoming Cowboys Football — Canvas Stadium, Fort Collins | Sat, Sep 5 at 12:00 AM. The Border War is BACK. This rivalry game is one of the most intense in Mountain West football — if you bleed green and gold, you already know. Make the drive up I-25 to Fort Collins; Canvas Stadium is a great venue and the atmosphere for this one will be electric.
💸 Free This Week
Not every great night has to cost you. Keep an eye on La Rumba's Ladies Night & Noche Sonidera (Fri, Sep 4) for potential free early entry, and check the Message Board events at Voucher — these community-driven gatherings are a low-key, low-cost way to connect with what's happening around the city. Always worth checking individual listings for updated free/reduced admission windows.
One More Thing...
Look, this is genuinely one of the best weeks on Denver's annual event calendar. Between Phish making DICK'S their Labor Day home, MANÁ painting Red Rocks with Latin rock magic, Jack Johnson setting two perfect summer nights at Fiddlers Green, and Coors Field buzzing with baseball all week — there is truly no excuse to be sitting on your couch. Get out there, Denver. The mountains aren't going anywhere, but summer is.
