This is a beautiful place my grandparents and great grandparents and a couple others. All my grandparent’s are inside the mausoleum. My grandpa dies in 1991. My grandma died in 1999 Sadly the over the years it has gotten neglected in the cleaning mouse poop and dust ledges dirty marble. No shine. When my grandpa was buried. There was a stain glass window. After a bit they took it out and never put it back. The marble is loose and has some chips.. not sure why? I didn’t know I had to bring my own cleaning supplies to maintain their graves. Very disappointing. I sad and cried as I cleaned the best I could the name plates and wall. We were visiting at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday. No one around to talk to. My mom called and we are waiting to hear as I write this..is we live out of state too. Just heart breaking. Be aware of spending your money here.
Crown Hill was once a place with high regard and people felt comfortable and confident in burying a loved one there, however that is currently not the case. They are very unorganized and do not communicate internally to make sure everything happens seamlessly for families from start to finish. My husband's headstone was placed in the wrong plot and it's been 3weeks and I still haven't received a plan or status as to when they will move his headstone. I was assured a call back today, so hopefully she will follow through.
With as much as grieving families are paying for funeral expenses these days you would think this place would have back up generators when the power goes out during their wake. The upkeep of the cemetery is fair. You be the judge and compare this place to the beautiful cemetery in Golden!
23 years ago, my family had a sudden and shocking death of my older brother, David. He was only 28 at that time and it was tragic. I truly appreciate that I have had this place to go to since 2002 to reflect on my brother's life. His resting place is right next to the park on the far west end of the property. Such a lovely veiw of the mountains from there. Anytime I visit, I'm never interrupted in my thoughts as its a nice quiet place to reflect. So much history here with headstones dating back to the early 1900's. Thank you for keeping the grounds cleaned and landscaped for a peaceful setting.
I couldn’t have asked for a better support person throughout this extremely hard time than Damon in funeral services. He was so receptive, kind, patient, and on top of the whole funeral service. He supported my friends and family. He did a fabulous job dressing and taking care of my son’s casket items. He was one step ahead with the flowers. He did a better job than I could have imagined with the display items for the funeral. I am so grateful for Damon. The services at Olinger were beautiful. Everything went smoothly.
