Coming from Los Angeles, we have one of the best matcha scenes in the country honestly and it’s been really hard to find strong matcha here in Denver. I’ve tried a couple of café’s and although their matcha is good, it’s just not strong for me…given that many cafes in LA (and NY) will put 4-6g of matcha in their drinks lol. So, I stumbled upon Carbon on Instagram and saw that they use Rocky’s Matcha! It’s a good quality matcha and well known in LA so I had to try them! I ordered an iced matcha latte with whole milk, cream top, and got it unsweetened as well so I can truly rate the matcha. I even asked one of the girls if I can have 4g of matcha and she was nice enough to make my drink that way! I was so happy because when I tasted my drink, the umami flavor of the matcha was prominent and I got exactly what I paid for. The matcha actually stood out which is another thing to consider from a customer standpoint who orders with whole milk because it’s a fattier/richer milk. From my experience, I can tell that the owner definitely respects the art of matcha and the staff was so nice and accommodating. I was even yapping with the girl who made my drink because she was so sweet! Will definitely come again!
I gladly drive out of my way to come here, and it’s absolutely worth it every single time. My go-to’s are the Ube latte and the Earl Grey Matcha latte both of which are beautifully crafted and delicious . The black sesame latte is a must-try when available and I’m hoping it earns a permanent spot on the menu. I’ve also been loving the wildflower latte recently. What I appreciate most is how thoughtfully curated the drink offerings are this Carbon Coffee makes it easy (and exciting) to step outside your usual order. Quality drinks and lovely experience. Highly recommend!
Carbon Coffee is everything my wildest dreams are made of, and so much more. The flavors were rich and unique. We hade the Sticky Rice Mango Matcha and a Blueberry Lavender Matcha, perfectly earthy and just a little sweet. The matcha was delicious and such good quality. The vibes are immaculate. 10/10 recommend. We will be back for sure. Thanks, Carbon 🤎
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Denver. I spent a couple months of the year in Denver and I make it a priority to come here for coffee. If you can make it in the springtime get their cherry blossom latte. Staff is really wonderful and the flavors are great.
The wife and I popped in here early on a Sunday morning; it was quiet with no other patrons, just two very nice employees. Small but well utilized space. We chose to "sip in" thus our bevvies were served in real coffee mugs, but to go cups are of course available. We both chose seasonal lattes- Wifey had the Chestnut Cardamom and I had the Bourbon Bells; both were fantastic! Latte art, perfect foam to milk ratio and a harmonized blend of flavors. They offer a variety of milk alternatives, including pistachio milk which I haven't see offered anywhere else. It appears they are masters of matcha and offer quite a variation of this; I've never been a big fan of matcha but I imagine if that's your jam you would want to explore their intriguing offerings such as the Blueberry Lavender Matcha. Bonus: Local Beans available for sale supporting local roasters Servant and Sweet Bloom. Highly recommend!
