Sat in the lawn, great view of the stage, easy access and much less than closer seats
Well the river was extremely low and murkey so we couldn't swim, but we made the best of it and cooled off. I have no 'Rugrets.'None. I have no idea who those silly kids are. 😀😀😀
Great amphitheater on the river, but there’s only a sliver of shade. When it’s 100 degrees, no one wants to sit in the sun. New this year is a $15 parking fee in the attached lot. That’s just greedy.
So disappointed with our experience at Las Colonias last night. My mom and I bought tickets to see Wynonna Judd and Melissa Etheridge. We were so excited to take my baby to his first concert tonight too. They do not allow strollers into the venue (but they do allow lawn chairs 🙄) and everyone needs a ticket apparently even the 8-month old that is going to be sleeping or being held the entire night? It is downright greedy and shameful to expect families to pay full price for a ticket for a baby that is not taking up a seat. I’ve been on flights, to Disneyland, the movies, other concerts… and as long as the baby does not require a seat does not get charged - let alone FULL PRICE. 🙄 We also had no idea about this before getting there- as almost everywhere does not charge for under 2yos there should be more explicit warning and disclosures at the least about this! Definitely NOT family-friendly. Makes me never want to support or go back to this venue which is such a shame as there really is not much for families to do around this area! The staff was so unfriendly and unhelpful during almost every interaction. The parking attendants were the only kind people we encountered all night. Do better Las Colonias!!
They book awesome bands, but I’m hesitant to come here for many reasons. The policy on the size and type of bag you can bring in is restrictive, parking was overlooked in the planning of this venue, security is over the top, the sound is poor, and they don’t contract with local breweries to support local businesses. More money to Budweiser, not in our community. Also recently they wouldn’t sell me a ticket after a show had already begun. Local outdoor venues such as the James M Robb park in Fruita are much more relaxed, family friendly, and enjoyable.
