This school is very comfortable in their racism. There have been 2 African American teachers recently here and the parents were so cruel to them. The school basically allowed the discrimination even though the teachers were some of the best teachers I had at this school. The current teacher that runs the (4 hour) recitals (he clearly doesn’t have a life outside of school) is tolerated because he’s white and the parents never challenge him. The school is mostly white and Asian. I think I saw one African American kid since the whole 4 years I attended the school. It just feels wrong here and I’m glad I’m done and I can finally speak about this. Hope this helps someone.
This school has shown me a community like no other. As a 7th grader in creative writing, the overwhelming majority of my teachers truly care and support my wellbeing and my education. Miranda Popp, creative writing co-director, cares so much for the art and the students, and i cannot express how grateful I am for her dedication to us. Unfortunately, Moss is retiring after this year, which is such a bittersweet feeling after being such a supportive figure, almost like a second dad, but Mr. Linville, who is filling the position is a truly talented teacher as well. Moreover, Mr. C (7th grade social studies) and Mr. Agamaite (7th grade math) are remarkable teachers and take great care of the students’ understanding of the subject. The only issue at this school is middle school drama, which doesn’t get better at any other middle school as you could assume. Please consider this school, it certainly has been worth it to me.
Never been. However being on an airplane to Newark NJ stuck behind them ... they did not represent your school well. More messy and unruly than my 7 year old son. Left McDonald's bags on the floor and delayed the other travelers from getting off the plan so far as to delay the cleaning crew that had to pick up after them. Very disrespectful and rude overall
Attended this school all 7 years. Was a stalwart of arts excellence in the era I was there. Very enriching from that standpoint but the academics can range from shoddy to just average.
Love this school. It's the best one I've ever been to, and it's absolutely amazing. The students are very kind and there are scholarships for students who need them. Students go on amazing trips and have great opportunities and you can really tell that the teachers care. The curriculum is challenging and really prepares students for college and real-life experience.
